Today, I am sharing one of the MAJOR Update related to the retirement of the Microsoft Teams and Google Calendar sync.

Major Update : Microsoft is retiring calendar syncing between Microsoft Teams and Google Workspace in October 2026, ending support for this feature

Details

  • Microsoft is retiring calendar syncing between Microsoft Teams and Google Workspace.
  • After this retirement, we will no longer be able to synchronize calendars between the two services using the calendar sync capability available through the Admin app in Teams.
  • Calendars that were previously matched and configured for synchronization will stop syncing.
  • Administrators will no longer have access to calendar sync setup in the Admin app in Teams.

  • Retirement: October 2026

Action required

  • In our organization, we need to notify affected users that calendar synchronization will stop in October 2026.
  • For users who need to schedule Microsoft Teams meetings from Google Calendar, we need to recommend the Microsoft Teams Meeting add-on for Google Workspace
